MECIP & METHA8 Collaborate for a new Clean Energy Technology

MECIP is pleased to announce the successful signing of a Convertible Agreement Regarding Equity (CARE) with METHA8, marking the official commencement of our collaboration on the Methanol Reforming Fuel Cell Power Generation Project.

The agreement was formally signed by Zhaotan Xiao, Co-Founder & CEO of METHA8, and Norman Lee, Project Director of METHA8, together with Ir. Mahmood Azmy Bin Muhammad Shukri, CEO of MECIP, and Ir. Ahmad Nazari Bin Ashari, Chairman of MECIP.

This milestone represents an important step forward in advancing innovative clean energy solutions and accelerating the transition towards a zero-carbon future. The partnership combines MECIP’s multidisciplinary engineering expertise with METHA8’s breakthrough technology development to deliver a pilot-scale system focused on efficient hydrogen production and fuel cell power generation.

The project supports the broader decarbonisation agenda, contributing to sustainable energy deployment through:
• Development of next-generation zero-emission power systems
• Advancement of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies
• Engineering innovation aligned with global sustainability goals

Through this CARE Agreement, both organizations reaffirm a shared commitment to sustainability, energy transition, and responsible industrial development, paving the way for scalable solutions that support cleaner energy infrastructure across the region.

The signing ceremony also marks the official kick-off of the pilot plant project, setting the foundation for long-term strategic collaboration between MECIP and METHA8.
